New Series Coming Your Way

It has been way too long since I've given my viewers an update on what is going on over here! With a whole new season of episodes for you to watch I have been busy filming and travelling across Canada. My company, NFMG Productions, has undergone some downsizing- but that doesn't mean we're giving you any less of what you love, and that's FISHING. My crew and I visited River's Inlet and fishing there never disappoints... I caught massive Chinook Salmon and was thrilled to bring my Grandson Dylan along to enjoy the trip. The lovely little town of Port Alberni showed us why they are an exciting tourist location, and I got to fulfill a lifetime dream of acting as a locomotive engineer on one of the oldest steam engines  in Canada. While that kept me busy I let my good friend, Dave Cornock, take the reigns and host an episode or two...

It's been talked about all Summer, and despite my non-stop schedule I have been hard at work getting these two grumpy old fishermen ready to film a damn episode. The rough and tough Clive Piercy goes head to head with prim and proper Bob Mills. These two geezers have only two things in common, their hate for each other, and their passion for fishing, and it's coming to you in an entertaining series full of laughs. Check out the opener by clicking here and stay tuned to find out when it will be premiering on a network near you!

Filming, Filming and more Filming

It’s heavy production time and I couldn’t be busier. I’ve been back to QCL a couple times already and my past week was spent up in Tahsis filming shows. I managed to shoot two episodes of Nice Fish; one with Miss B.C. and one on zzinging for Chinooks. I also shot two episodes of Nice Fish Jr; on Ling Cod and lite tackle Chinooks. These Nice Fish Jr episodes are not only fun to shoot, but extremely educational as well. Check out the news segment where Dylan visits Jack Brooks Hatchery in Sooke B.C. to learn about clipping coho fry!

Next week I will be filming at Duncanby Lodge for 4 days, then back in the office for a week, and then up to Port Alberni for 4 days. We’ve got lots of really amazing shows coming up - some of our best yet! Stay tuned.

Another Day, Another Broadcaster

The fun continues with “Nice Fish Jr.” as I have been attending a different event with Dylan every weekend to shoot episodes. Over the May long weekend, Dylan and I took the camper over to Vancouver where we intended to shoot a great episode on bass fishing in a little marsh in Pitt Meadows, as well as do some camping in the area. Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate and we were unsuccessful. It seems that summer has finally arrived now though, so I will be taking Dylan back on Thursday to try again. I’m sure it will go much better this time around now that we have the weather on our side.

Dylan and I also attended the Learn to Fish program in Chemainus. This is a great program for children to learn all about loving and respecting the outdoors, habitat and natural resources, as well as tips and tricks to having an exciting and successful day on the water. It is also a great place for us adults to learn about doing our part in preserving things for our kids. Check out the “NFJr News” segment for more details.

In other news, I have just closed a very exciting deal with TUFF TV; a network in the states which launched in June 2009 and is the first digital broadcast television network to offer first run original programming targeted at men and the specific pursuits, interests, and hobbies they are passionate about. Tuff TV will be buying 337 episodes of "Nice Fish" to add to their repertoire of programming.
